How to : Display Related Posts in Vigilance Theme WordPress

I have been fiddling around with the newly installed theme Vigilance. There is a cost involved to it if I wanna take some help from the Theme Author. But at this point in time I can not afford it. So I thought of doing it on my own. There are number of modifications done on this theme. I am not even able to remember it. I am just a part time coder so there is a very good chance that I might forget what I did to make that thing work.
I will soon publish the list of modifications done in Vigilance Theme. As of now I am posting how to display Related Posts on a page. You can laugh if I tell you the purpose of posting it here. I wanted to make sure that even if I forget what I did it stays here on my Blog and I can refer to that later on. And it might be help to others as well.

So here is what you need to do:

• Open single.php and find

< ?php comments_template(”, true); ?>

• Now paste the following code before the above code.
• Link to the code as it was creating some problem with the post.

Get A Perfect WordPress 404 Error Page

Alright, I am back with another another round of WordPress Tips and Tricks. This time around I will be telling you how to get a perfect Customized Search Engine Optimized WordPress Error 404 page. How many times it has happened with you that you had some posts done in your blog and due to some reasons you had to delete it or you messed up with the installation. And one fine day you looked at your Google Analytics and found out that google is still sending lot much traffic to your blog on some particular page(s). Now what to do ? This has actually happened to me. I had a very good up and running Blog and I messed up with my WordPress installation without taking the backup. Now I am getting some traffic from Google search and the Error 404 page which is the landing page for the people clicking my website’s link from Google search does not contain for what they actually clicked for. Now to deal with these kind of situations you have to have a very good Error 404 Page which shows they way out to the lost visitor on your Blog.

Temp Theme Change

Guys, I told you that I will be getting typebased theme modified by my friend. He seems to be very busy these days and he told me that he is not able to take out time to do it. So I decided in the mean time I should get some other theme. I am using a new theme Vigilance. Its free and Its kinda nice. I always wanted a plain nice theme. Something like WordPress Blog. Clean and Big fonts. Though it does not have big fonts but I can manage as it has a clean design. Also its a bit customizable.

Can someone help ?

I’ve got this free theme TypeBased installed in my Blog but I am having a hard time customizing it. I am still doing a good Job, isn’t it ? Anyways could any of you please help me fix the width of the Post Content area. Its very small and because of that I am not able to put proper graphics in the post. I am restricted to use only 400px wide graphics. I don’t wanna do that. I want to make it wider and reduce the width of the Date and Author area it seems to be very wide.Also the padding seems to be very wide.. I can’t make any progress as I am not very good at any language/coding.

FLIR – Advanced WordPress Usage

FLIR is a one hell of a great plug-in if used wisely. Yeah its called facelift for wordpress and its quite right at its words. It can instantly boost your WordPress looks so amazingly. I mean its really cool. It lacks the demonstration of usage though. There are instructions available but not for noobs like me. They are very generic. Not specific to WordPress users.

So why am I writing about it. Yes, you got it. I am going to do some RnD on this as well and post some tutorials in some days, probably in the coming weekend. Yeah I remember about that post. Learning WordPress Tips and Tricks

Guys, I am really sorry for not writing much. Actually I’ve not been blogging in fact. Is it just my stubbornness to Blog or what ? Its like, I don’t know what to Blog but I wanna blog. I always wanted to do something for this world in Technology front and I don’t know how am I gonna do that. I am really not sure.

Anyways lets get to the point. I chose WordPress as my blogging script after alot of research. it is said to be the most used blogging script in this world. It would have been a hit if aliens also blogged.  I have been using WordPress for the last 8-9 months and still I am not really familiar with it. Well I must not say familiar because I have been able to post.. yeah thats correct. But I am not getting what I want. I want a really nice and beautiful blog. I mean it should look perfect. I am not a coder, just a part time copy paster so I look for tutorials on the Internet. I was using phpBB earlier. I used it for over 2-3 years. I was actually good at that. I have setup a really nice forum of my own but that is not used for anything. Just to show off.
