Here was an Arab Muslim intellectual, who having compared the history of these two states since their independence from Britain in 1947, concluded that the Indian experiment was a success story, while in contrast, Pakistan has done very poorly. The following are excerpts from the article, followed as usual, by my analysis, and comments.
?As we compare the secular Hindu State of India with the Islamic State of Pakistan, we are struck by the utter contrasts between the two. To begin with, India?s president now is a Muslim, which indicates that his religion did not keep him from reaching this high position. Furthermore, we should remember that he has played a major role in the development of the Indian nuclear program. Add to that, India has made great strides in the fields of technology, economics, agriculture, and education. It has achieved a remarkable level of democracy in its government. Compare all that success with the awful backwardness of the Islamic State of Pakistan, its system of religious education, its failing economy, the rise of terrorism with the blessing and encouragement of the tribal and religious leaders of the land.

India has always been spiritual, that's no wonder. I always have this thought, spiritual countries tend to be on the spot of being on the 3rd world countries. Maybe it's because of embracing too much on religion? One of that is my country, Philippines because church and government won't go together.

Are Indians spiritual? Just because there are places of worship strewn all over the place does not mean that Indians are spiritual. How many people understand what the priest says in a place of worship? If Indians are spiritual, why is there so much ethnic, religious, caste and class intolerance? I think Indians are more superstitious than spiritual.

There are any number of goons who illegally build a place of worship and claim the periphery as their own - a safe land grabbing technique considering that the Government is scared of touching anything related to the so-called spiritual.

You may be able to count the babas who wear traditional baba dresses. But there are many babas who walk around in business suits giving away their spiritual wisdom free of cost to unsuspecting colleagues in the corridors of corporates. You may never be able to count them.

Its not a question whether a temple is ok or mosque, but that it is not required or is unwanted at corner of road or on footpaths. We dont want to start temple or mosque anywhere . Thats the point. It hampers modernisation of city. I support Kuldeep partly.

The title of post is wrong, Spirituality and Religion is different.

If tomorrow I create a poster like that and start talking about Muslims. Does that make All Hindu's in this world against the whole Muslim community. You need to understand that a small group of people can spoil the whole religion/community/world.

And please don't comment anymore, I will not approve because you don't seem to debate on the topic. I never wanted to discuss this regional discrimination on my blog. Never.

ha ha.. leave it man.. what personal information you give when you go to a temple or a mosque.

And I was talking about in general, any information related to website. Why do you think US and UK has their 1000's of websites setup ? Is that to breach their citizen's personal information. Grow up boy. And you would have a personal information which is not known to the whole world. I don't. Most Indians would know that I am an Indian and belong to Hindu religion.
